The bill I chose was bill number 2276. This bill is designed to make it so a child in the third grade will not be able to pass the third grade unless they are able to read at a 3rd grade level. So far, the bill was introduced to the House Jan. 11, and referred to Education on Jan. 21.

Senate bill 742 would make it so that illegal immigrants who grew up in oregon could still go to an oregon college and pay in state tuition. This would greatly increase the high school graduation rate and success of immigrants in oregon, as they would have much more motivation to get through high school and go on to college. House Bill 2233: Directs Sate Board of Pharmacy to adopt rules making nicotine a Schedule III controlled substance.
A Schedule III substance means that the drug has has a less potential for abuse or addiction than Schedule II substances (high tendency for abuse and some medical use) and Schedule I substances (high tendency for abuse and no medical use) and has currently accepted medical use.
